Retired Employees – Vision Plan. 1. Effective June 1, 2012, retirees may participate in an optional vision care plan, which is not part of the group plan for active unit employees, as set forth below: a. The premiums will be fully paid by the retired employee. b. The plan is separate and apart from the group vision plan for active employees. Medical premium rates will be set independent of the active group plan; the retiree plan rates and experience will not be “blended” with rates and experience for active employees.
