Retirement Reopener. 524. Consistent with provisions of Charter Section A8.409, this Agreement shall be reopened if the Charter is amended to enable the City and the Union to negotiate and arbitrate retirement benefits.
Retirement Reopener. 284. At the written request of the Union, the City agrees to meet and confer with the Union over a mutually satisfactory contract amendment with PERS to effect safety retirement improvements. As set forth in Charter Section A8.409-2 any contract amendment shall be cost neutral. As set forth in Charter Sections A8.409.-5 and A8.506-2, the parties acknowledge that any disputes remaining after meet and confer on a PERS contract amendment are not subject to the impasse resolution procedures in Charter Section A8.409.

Retirement Reopener. The parties agree to reopen this Agreement if the County enters into an agreement with any of the recognized employee organizations to improve the retirement plan for miscellaneous members of the Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System. This Agreement may also be reopened if the County initiates a proposal to improve the retirement plan for miscellaneous members.

Subject to development, availability and scheduling by SFERS and PERS, employees shall be allowed not more than one (1) day during the life of this MOU to attend a pre-retirement planning seminar sponsored by SFERS or PERS.
Retirement Reopener. The parties agree to meet and confer in Spring 2008 to discuss amending the City’s contract with CalPERS to provide the single highest year benefit. The provision of this benefit must be at no cost to the City.
