Common use of RFIs Clause in Contracts

RFIs. During the course of construction as part of the basic services, Architect must respond to all Requests for Information (“RFI”) as expeditiously as possible so as not to impact and delay the construction progress. In no case shall the review period associated with an RFI exceed seven (7) calendar days from receipt by the Architect. Architect’s response to each RFI shall be a substantive and acceptable response. This seven-day time period shall not include time when a submittal is within the District’s control or if the submittal is being reviewed by DSA. In no way does this provision reduce the Architect’s liability if it fails to prepare acceptable documents. Architect must verify that RFIs are passed through the Project Inspector, if any.
