Construction Administration Services. The Engineer shall perform construction administration services during construction as necessary. Such services shall, as part of the services to be rendered for the Engineer's established fee, include as much of the Engineer's professional services and the services of the Engineer's consultants as the State deems necessary for the well-being of the project and efficient prosecution of the construction work, but shall not include the Engineer's undertaking continuous on-site observation of the work. If the Engineer fails to perform such duties in a conscientious and reasonable manner, the State may exercise its right to terminate this contract as hereinafter provided in Section T. Additionally, it is understood and agreed to by the Engineer and the State that the duties of the Engineer shall include, but not be limited to, the following services:
a. observe the progress of construction in order to determine whether there appear to be any defects or deficiencies in the construction work or deviations from the drawings and specifications, including variations from the materials specified and the methods of construction authorized. The Engineer shall not be required to guarantee the performance of the general contractor or her/his/its subcontractors;
b. attend job meetings, as required, at which the Engineer shall, on the basis of the Engineer's visitations to the site and observations thereon, report on the progress of the work and make recommendations concerning the same;
c. submit to DAS on the fifteenth and last days of each month, in such form as directed by the State, observation-based reports regarding the progress of the work;
d. review submittals and furnish recommendations to the State concerning material and equipment, and review and report on the general contractor's proposals in connection with changes in the construction contract. These services are to be performed within five (5) calendar days of receipt of such proposals so as not to delay the work;
e. review partial payment requisitions submitted by the general contractor within three (3) working days of the receipt of such submittals;
f. review and comment on shop drawings submitted to her/him/it for review. This service is to be performed within five (5) working days of the receipt of such submittals unless DAS assents to written notification of why this cannot be accomplished;
g. within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt, record on the original final tracings and CAD disks returned to...
Construction Administration Services. Construction services for projects may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
a. provide required copies of conformed construction documents;
b. organize and conduct pre-construction conference;
c. coordinate closely with County construction inspectors;
d. if requested by County, provide site resident engineering services;
e. if requested by the County, provide site resident construction inspection services;
f. review and approve shop drawings and laboratory test results;
g. provide advice during construction;
h. attend progress meetings;
i. make periodic visits to construction site to inspect construction progress and certify construction;
j. provide clarification and interpretation of the specification and construction drawings;
k. review and monitor the Contractor’s construction schedules;
l. review and provide consultation concerning contractor’s requests for additional contract cost and contract time;
m. perform substantial completion and final completion inspections of completed facilities;
j. observe project start-up performance test; and, k. prepare operation and maintenance manuals.
Construction Administration Services. CONSULTANT shall provide administrative and management services. The CONSULTANT shall receive all correspondence from the CONTRACTOR and address all inquiries from the CONTRACTOR and construction related correspondence. The ENGINEER will be responsible for providing design input.
Construction Administration Services. Those portions of the Services comprising Part 5 of the Basic Services that the Consultant shall perform in accordance with the terms of the Agreement when directed and authorized by a Service Order.
Construction Administration Services. During the construction phase of work, Garver will accomplish the tasks below.
Construction Administration Services. The Engineer shall perform the services required for each Phase only after it receives written notice of acceptance of the preceding Phase, authorization by the Director to begin performance, and assurance that adequate funds have been allocated. The City is not required to proceed with this Contract after completion of the Engineer's services for any Phase. If this occurs, the Director shall notify the Engineer in writing of his intent to terminate this Contract under Section 5.
Construction Administration Services. Construction Administration Services means those services, if any, which relate to the administration of the Construction Contract and which are identified as such in Schedule A – ENGINEER’S SCOPE OF SERVICES and which form part of the Services.
Construction Administration Services. Task 4
(1) The Engineer shall provide administration of the construction contract during construction and until final payment is made to the Construction Contractor. The Engineer will have the authority to act on behalf of the City only to the extent provided in this Contract, unless otherwise modified by written instrument.
(2) Meet with the City or its representatives at any time requested for consultation or conference as directed in writing by the Program Manager.
(3) Assist in coordination of pre-work conferences for the Construction Contractor, the City and all other interested parties. The City will issue all work orders for the Project.
(4) Establish permanent horizontal and vertical alignment control points throughout the entire Project limits from which the Construction Contractor shall set its control for construction. Provide a permanent benchmark within two hundred (200) feet of the beginning and ending of the proposed construction. All surveys and control points shall be tied to the City’s GIS control network and datum. Construction staking is to be performed by the Construction Contractor. The Engineer will periodically review the Construction Contractor’s construction staking survey field notes and the actual staking to verify line and grade is in accordance with the bidding documents.
(5) Provide interpretation of the plans and specifications in accordance with the intent of the bidding documents. Such interpretations shall be made upon request of the City and its representatives or the Construction Contractor, to safeguard the City against defects and deficiencies in the construction. When making such interpretations and decisions, the Engineer will endeavor to secure faithful performance by the Construction Contractor. The Engineer does not guarantee the performance of the contract by the Construction Contractor, nor is it responsible for construction means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures, or for safety precautions and programs in connection with the work, and it shall not be responsible for a Construction Contractor’s failure to carry out the work in accordance with the bidding documents.
(6) Perform coordination of the work of inspection bureaus and laboratories selected by the City for the inspection and testing of construction materials.
