Roadway Design Criteria. The Engineer shall develop the roadway design criteria based on the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual and AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets guidelines. The design criteria shall include the following roadway design elements: design speed, lane and shoulder widths, pavement structure and slopes, horizontal curvatures, horizontal and vertical clearances, range of vertical profile grades, and side slopes.
