The Engineer shall furnish Microsoft Office and Microstation MicroStation V8i-Geopak Open Roads (SS3) computer generated media containing the roadway schematic layout to the State. All supporting attachments and exhibits shall accompany the DocuSign Envelope ID: 4542C97A-A0BF-4F41-B2F5-F020508C38AA schematic layout. All Microstation MicroStation and Geopak Open Roads (SS3) computer generated files containing the roadway design schematic shall be compatible with the software used by the State. The Engineer shall produce, obtain, review, and evaluate existing and twenty-year projected traffic data for use in the preparation of the schematic design layout. The data shall be utilized in accordance with the requirements for schematic development and consistent with the policies of the State. The Engineer shall prepare a line diagram of LP 1604 corridor in acceptable format to submit to TxDOT Transportation Planning & Programming Division (TP&P) to use for preparation of design year traffic projections. The Engineer shall prepare preliminary drawings to identify any potential adverse impacts within the project corridor. Identification of all existing and proposed utilities (public and private), structures, burial grounds, neighborhood communities, historical landmarks, and undeveloped areas is required. Any potential utility conflicts and structural impediments must be identified as such. The Engineer shall propose alternative alignments within the existing ROW which would avoid or minimize displacements and damages, reduce the amount of throw away of the four lane section with the consideration of the freeway expansion based on the feasibility study ultimate and prepare any additional attachments or exhibits required illustrating a preferred alternative alignment. The Engineer shall render assistance to the State for agency meetings as necessary DocuSign Envelope ID: B8DCCCD3-A0B3-4BAD-BC2D-75E46611CBD6 during the development of the schematic design as requested by the State. The Engineer shall also render assistance to the State for meetings with affected property owners (MAPOs), public meetings and a public hearing if requested. An itemization of the schematic design and engineering work activity to be performed under this contract is detailed below. All designs shall be prepared in accordance with the latest version of: TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, TxDOT Project Development Process Manual, AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, TxDOT Standard Specifications for Construction of Highways, Streets, and Bridges, TxDOT Traffic Operations Manual on Highway Operations, Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control (TMUTCD), and Highway Capacity Manual - Transportation Research Board. The design schematic horizontal layout will adhere to a design scale of 1 in. = 100 ft (or 1 inft. = 200 ft as directed by the State.) The schematic layout, exhibits, and attachments will be developed in English units. All Microsoft Office and Microstation MicroStation V8i - Geopak – Open Roads (SS3) computer graphic files furnished to the State must be submitted in electronic format by means of a CD, DVD, or USB media that will be compatible to the State. Schematics will follow the State and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) standards, the schematic will also follow the CADD standards used by the State and shall be DocuSign Envelope ID: 4542C97A-A0BF-4F41-B2F5-F020508C38AA submitted as an original document, accompanied with an original Microstation MicroStation V8i formatted graphics file. Final copies of the schematic design shall be signed by a professional engineer licensed in the State of Texas.
