Common use of Safety Allowance Clause in Contracts

Safety Allowance. (a) The Company shall reimburse Employees for personal protective equipment (PPE) up to three hundred and twenty-five ($325) per calendar year as a PPE allowance. Any unused portion of the PPE allowance may be carried for one year. PPE such as prescription safety glasses, CSA work boots, custom hearing protection, extra winter coveralls, etc are eligible. All PPE must meet SMS Equipment safety requirements. (b) New Employees with less then 12 months’ service, who have completed their probationary period, shall be eligible for a portion of the above allowance pro-rated to the number of full months employed with SMS Equipment, Fort XxXxxxxx locations. (c) Original receipts for PPE purchases for the calendar year ending December 31st must be submitted to the Company no later than March 30th of the following year. Any Safety Allowance claims submitted after this date will not be accepted by the Company and will not be reimbursed to the employee. (d) The original receipts will be returned to the Employee before the end of the day submitted.
