Salary Deferral Enrollment. ‌ All employees in the Unit shall automatically be enrolled in the County’s 457 Deferred Compensation Plan and contribute 1.00% of base salary to the plans, subject to all legal requirements and constraints. Prior to the first salary deferral deduction, employees shall be provided a 30-day period during which the employee may decline in writing to be enrolled and no salary deferral deduction shall be taken. Thereafter, after being enrolled into the County’s 457 Deferred Compensation Plan employees may withdraw at any time. The Human Resources Employee Benefits and Services Division shall establish the forms and guidelines for the salary deferral declination of enrollment and administer the deduction according to the applicable Plan Document(s) and/or Human Resources Benefits procedures.

Prior to the first salary deferral deduction employees shall be provided written notification of and provided a 30-day opt-out period during which no salary deferral deduction shall be taken. Thereafter, employees may opt-out at any time. The Human Resources Employee Benefits and Services Division shall establish the forms and guidelines for the salary deferral opt-out and administer the deduction according to the applicable Plan Document(s) and/or Human Resources Benefits procedures.
