Salary on Demotion. When an Employee is demoted, the Employee's increment date shall not change and the rate of pay shall be maintained where such rate exists in the new classification or shall be reduced to the rate of pay in the new classification which is next below the Employee's present rate of pay where an equivalent rate of pay does not exist.
