Scope of Insurance Benefit. The Insurance Benefit shall be equal to the amount of the relevant multiple of the percentage corresponding to the extent of loss according to the appraisal table and the insurance money under the Insurance Agreement. In the event of loss not covered by the appraisal tables, the Insured Event Administrator shall determine the amount of the Insurance Benefit according to the type and degree of severity by comparison with the closest similar loss. In the event that the appraisal tables contain different percentages for the right and left hands and the Insured is left-handed, the percentages shall apply in reverse. In the case of multiple losses caused by one injury, the total amount of the Insurance Benefit shall be equal to the sum of the amounts for the individual losses, up to the insurance benefit limit. If the damage applies to a body part or organ damaged prior to the injury, the Insurance Benefit shall be reduced by the percentage corresponding to the previous portion of damage according to the appraisal tables. If the consequences of the injury are aggravated due to the previous health condition or due to the rejection or non-observance of treatment, the Insurer shall determine the Insurance Benefit according to the consequences of the injury which would be suffered by an otherwise healthy person under the same circumstances who followed appropriate treatment. During the life of this Agreement, the basic life insurance benefit made available to Faculty members shall be calculated as 3 times base annual earnings, rounded to the next highest $1,000, but not more than $225,000. A separate additional benefit up to the amount of the life insurance will be paid for accidental death and dismemberment, or loss of sight. The amount of Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment/Loss of Sight benefits will be reduced to 65% at age 65, and further reduced (from the original insurance amount) as follows: to 50% at age 70, and 35% at age 75. Basic life insurance and AD&D benefits will be provided with no employee contributions.
