Common use of Section 7.1.1. Unworked Holidays Clause in Contracts

Section 7.1.1. Unworked Holidays. 35 Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect 36 at the time the holiday occurs. Employees who are on the active payroll on the holiday and 37 have worked either their last scheduled shift preceding the holiday or their first scheduled shift 38 succeeding the holiday, and are not on leave of absence, other than sick leave, shall be eligible 39 for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if employees 40 can furnish proof satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on 41 either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has 42 not been longer than thirty (30) regular work days.
