Except for an Unassigned Custodian (Rover) promoting to the J-3 range, an employee who is promoted to fill a vacancy through the posting procedure shall be given a ninety (90) workday period for training and trial on the new job. No promoted custodian may exercise transfer rights during this period. If the employee fails to succeed, or if the position is discontinued, the employee may return to the former job title without loss of seniority. If the former job has not been posted, the employee may return to the former job. However, the employee shall not be entitled to exercise seniority on another promotion for a period of twelve (12) months. An employee who moves from one work site to another, as a result of promotion shall not be considered as having transferred. After an employee-initiated demotion, the employee shall not be eligible for transfer or promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.
