Seniority and Pension Plans. Employees who are participants in any 401(a) defined contribution or City defined benefit retirement plan will continue to accrue years of service for vesting purposes during periods of military leave, and such leave will not constitute a break in service, so long as the employee complies with requirements for reinstatement after completing active duty or active or inactive duty training. During military leave, the employee’s accounts will remain active and subject to fund transfers, changes in beneficiaries and other changes.
