Common use of Seniority Factors Clause in Contracts

Seniority Factors. The Employer and the Union agree that in selecting employees for a job opening, appointment will be made of the most senior applicant on the applicable list, (the regular employee seniority list) who meets the normal requirements of the job with a reasonable amount of orientation and training. If there are no applicants from the applicable list, applications will be considered from the other list (the on-call employee seniority list) and an appointment made of the most senior applicant who meets the normal requirements of the job with a reasonable amount of orientation and training.
