Separation of a Probationary Employee. If during the probationary period the University determines that an employee does not meet the University’s expectations, the University may separate the employee. Written notice of the action must be provided to the employee at least one (1) workday prior to the effective date of the action. If the employee is unavailable, notification will be by certified mail. If the University fails to provide one (1) working days’ notice, the separation will stand and the employee will be entitled to payment of salary for up to one (1) working day, which the employee would have worked had notice been given. Under no circumstances will notice deficiencies result in an employee gaining permanent status.
