Common use of Serious Illness in the Immediate Family Clause in Contracts

Serious Illness in the Immediate Family. Five (5) days without loss of pay shall be allowed each year as a family leave for serious illness in the immediate family which shall be defined as the certificated employee's spouse, parent, or dependent child as that term is defined by the Internal Revenue Service. This leave shall not be deducted from the accumulative personal sick leave record of the employee. When absence of more than two (2) days at one time is required under this regulation, a physician's certificate may be required.
