Shift and unit preference. A nurse who is unsuccessful during the trial period shall also retain preference over all other applicants to return to open positions on the nurse’s original shift and retain in-unit seniority in the nurse’s previous nursing unit for a one-year period. This preference shall begin as of the date the nurse leaves the program or orientation within the time parameters specified above, and shall end as soon as the nurse accepts a position in his or her unit and shift. During this time, the nurse may separately exercise one shift bid and one unit preferential bid. If returned to his or her unit within this period, the nurse’s in-unit seniority shall be restored.

  • Shift Preference 200 Shift preference will be granted on the basis of seniority within the classification as openings occur. In all hiring for bargaining unit positions, the Company shall, subject to its obligations under applicable equal employment opportunity laws and regulations, give consideration, to the full extent of interest, to the direct relatives (children, children-in-law, step-children, spouse, siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews) of Employees and retirees of the Company who meet reasonably established hiring criteria.

  • ASSIGNMENT PREFERENCES Although UCF DHRL attempts to accommodate all residence applicants, there are usually more applicants than available residence hall and apartment spaces. UCF DHRL in no way guarantees that housing accommodations will be available either when applied for, or in the future. As a general guideline, UCF DHRL utilizes a lottery system, with additional weight or preferences, assigned at the sole discretion of UCF DHRL, to one degree or another:
