Short-term Temporary Employees. a. “Short-term employee,” as used in this section, means any person who is employed and paid for less than 75% of a school year to perform a service for the District, upon the completion of which, the service required or similar services will not be extended or needed on a continuing basis. b. “Seventy-five percent of a school year” means 195 working days, including holidays, sick leave, vacation, and other leaves of absences, irrespective of number of hours worked per day. c. No employee serving in a short-term position for one hundred ninety-five (195) working days in any one (1) fiscal year shall be employed in any other short-term capacity for the remainder of the fiscal year. d. If a short-term position is utilized for more than one hundred ninety-five (195) working days, the position shall become a bargaining unit position.
