Common use of Sick Leave Investigation Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Investigation. A. If a supervisor believes that an employee is using sick leave for reasons other than the employee’s own illness, the illness of an immediate family member, injury, pregnancy, or the necessity for medical or dental care, the supervisor may initiate an investigation by contacting human resources to discuss the details of the allegations. If human resources agrees with the supervisor’s assessment, the human resources will begin an investigation using County resources and staff. As part of the investigation, the County will contact the employee and ask the employee to provide information to address the County’s concerns. The County will conduct all sick leave investigations in a manner that will provide the necessary operational information while protecting the privacy of the employee to the extent possible.
