Sick Leave Pay Off on Death. Retirement, or Resignation Upon death or retirement, accrued sick leave shall be paid off at the rate of 50% of the equivalent cash value. Upon resignation in good standing, workers with 10 or more years of service shall be paid up to 60 days of accrued sick leave at the rate of 25% of the equivalent cash value. All accrued balances beyond 60 days will be paid off at the rate of twelve and one-half percent (12 1/2%) of the accrued cash value.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.

  • SICK LEAVE WITH PAY LIMITATION 175. An employee who is absent because of disability leave and who is receiving disability indemnity payments may request that the amount of disability indemnity payment be supplemented with salary to be charged against the employee's sick leave with pay credits so as to equal the amount the employee would have earned for a regular work schedule. If the employee wishes to exercise this option, the employee must submit a signed statement to the employee's department no later than thirty (30) days following the employee's release from disability leave.
