Sick Leave Pay. A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.
Sick Leave Pay. Sick leave with pay is only payable because of sickness and employees who are absent from duty because of sickness may be required to prove sickness. Failure to meet this requirement can be cause for disciplinary action. Repeated failure to meet this requirement can lead to dismissal. Employees must notify the Employer as promptly as possible of any absence from duty because of sickness and employees must notify the Employer prior to their return.
Sick Leave Pay. A. Sick leave pay shall be at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay, including applicable shift premium, for the number of hours the employee would have worked had he/she worked his/her normal shift. In the event the employee's normal shift cannot be determined due to shift fluctuations between payroll periods, sick leave pay shall be for the employee's assigned full-time equivalent hours.
B. Accumulated sick leave shall not be converted to a cash payment.
Sick Leave Pay. Xxxx leave is paid at the employee's straight-time rate of pay including any shift differential, provided that the employee would have been expected to work that shift or shifts if not on sick leave.
Sick Leave Pay. In the event of illness an employee will receive sick leave hours equivalent to their regularly scheduled shift hours for each regular workday he/she is absent from work to the extent of his/her earned sick leave credits. Employees shall be charged for sick leave only for absence on days when they would otherwise work and receive pay.
Sick Leave Pay. The rate of sick leave pay shall be the employee’s base rate of compensation in effect for the employee’s regular job at the time the sick leave is being taken.
Sick Leave Pay. “Sick leave” with pay shall be allowed by the School District whenever a teacher's absence is found to have been due to an illness or debilitating condition, or medical related appointment which prevented his/her attendance at school and performance of duties on that day or days.
Sick Leave Pay. 12.01 For regular employees hired on or before April 30, 2005 covered by this Agreement who have been in the service of the Employer for one (1) year or more shall accumulate unused sick leave at the rate of one-half (1/2) day per month for each month of continuous employment in which they work ninety-six (96) hours in a four week month and one hundred and twenty (120) hours in a five week month, but not to exceed a maximum equivalent of sixty (60) full days.
12.02 Sick leave pay, to the extent it has been earned, shall begin after the employee's second (2nd) full work day’s absence for sickness or non-occupations injury, and upon the first (1st) work day of absence if employee is hospitalized, undergoes outpatient surgery, or has accumulated in excess of one hundred ninety two (192) hours. The waiting period provided herein shall apply for each illness or non-occupational injury. For Employees hired on or after May 1, 2005, sick leave shall be paid as provided in the preceding section, except sick leave shall not commence until the third (3rd) full workday’s absence. There shall be no first (1st) or second (2nd) day sick leave for these employees unless the employee is hospitalized or absence due to outpatient surgery. There shall be no retroactive application of this provision.
12.03 Sick leave benefits will be paid only with respect to a work day on which the employee would otherwise have worked, and will not apply to an employee's scheduled day off, holidays, vacation, or any other day on which the employee would not haveworked.
12.04 Sick leave pay, to the extent it has been earned, will be integrated with payments under any federal or state workers compensation program, Employer•paid health and welfare, or other disability program to which the Employer contributes, so as not to permit the employee to receive more than his regular weekly pay up to forty (40) hours of pay at the employee's regular straight-time hourly rate of pay for any week in which the employee is off work.
12.05 A doctor's certificate or other authoritative verification of illness or accident may be required by the Employer, and, if so, must be presented by the employee not more than forty-eight (48) hours after return to work. Any employee found to have abused sick leave benefits by falsification or misrepresentation shall thereupon be subject to disciplinary action, which may include termination except that such certificate may be required before the employee's return to work in ...
Sick Leave Pay. Pay for any day of absence chargeable to sick leave shall be the pay rate which the unit member would have received had the unit member served during the day.
Sick Leave Pay. Subject to the percentages set forth below, the Board shall provide terminal sick leave pay for accumulated sick leave to all employees at retirement or to their beneficiaries upon death. Determination of such terminal pay may not exceed an amount determined as follows: During the first three (3) years of service the daily rate of pay multiplied by thirty-five percent (35%) times the number of days of accumulated sick leave; during the next three (3) years of service the daily rate of pay multiplied by forty percent (40%) times the number of days of accumulated sick leave; during the next three (3) years of service the daily rate of pay multiplied by forty-five percent (45%) times the number of days of accumulated sick leave; and during and after the tenth (10th) year of service the daily rate of pay multiplied by fifty percent (50%) times the number of days of accumulated sick leave; during and after the thirteenth (13th) year of service the daily rate of pay multiplied by one hundred percent (100%) of the number of days of accumulated sick leave. In order to receive this payment an employee must have applied for retirement benefits from a Florida Retirement Plan prior to the time of termination. Employees must request terminal sick leave pay in writing to the Superintendent of Schools. The daily rate of pay shall be determined utilizing the person’s base salary only without any supplements including advanced degree supplements for all instructional personnel employed on or after July 1, 2011. The Board shall also provide terminal sick leave pay for up to five days of accumulated sick leave to all employees upon non-reappointment or resignation.
