Common use of Sick Time Payout Clause in Contracts

Sick Time Payout. Members who have worked at Oakland University for thirty (30) years or more at the time of their separation from the University will receive one hundred percent (100%) pay out of their unused sick leave as of the effective date of separation but not to exceed a maximum of eight hundred (800) hours. They do not have to be sixty-five (65) years of age. Any employee hired after February 5, 2001 shall not be eligible for a sick time pay out. Employees meeting the foregoing conditions who are terminating their employment with the University between the first through the fifteenth day of the month will receive one-half (1/2) of that month’s sick leave accrual rounded to the nearest whole hour, and employees terminating between the sixteenth and the last day of the month will receive all of that month’s accrual.
