Small Towns Big Ideas. A number of Small Towns Big Ideas projects came to fruition during Q3 including: - Skylight 47 publication launch event in Galway city - Poetry showcase with young people at Shorelines Arts Festival in Portumna - A week long programme of art and dialogue in Ballygar focusing on racism and exclusion - Paving New Pathways community festival in Tuam - Shot By The Sea and Telling Stories, Sharing Cultures both featured at Westside Arts Festival All of these events were free and well attended. Over 30 different Small Towns Big Ideas projects have already been delivered since the programme commenced in 2018, and by the end of 2020 Small Towns Big Ideas will have supported the delivery of over 70 new cultural projects with local communities across Galway city and county. Upcoming in October is Connemara Songlines which will present a weekend of choral music and visual art from 31 October to 2 November in Clifden. The Small Towns Big Ideas programme is also creating links with and our sister European Capital of Culture Rijeka 2020 and their 27 Neighbourhoods programme and are currently identifying community projects that can be twinned between the two programmes. Galway 2020 will host a writers’ workshop with Skein Press in October for emerging writers from black and ethnic minority communities. Building on this we will seek to identify opportunities for some of these writers to engage with Small Towns Big Ideas projects and the wider Galway 2020 programme. Planning continues with all of the 27 new Small Towns Big Ideas projects selected under Round 2 and capacity building workshops will be delivered to all of the projects on 29 & 30 October. This capacity building work will focus on critical areas for these projects such as communications & branding, engaging with artists, and audience development. Small Towns Big Ideas. Small Towns Big Ideas is a Galway 2020 flagship programme. The programme commenced in the summer of 2018 with 51 different community generated projects spanning Galway city and county with 24 city- based projects. Most of these projects are now well underway and many have already been realised with considerable success. Examples of recent events in Galway city by Small Towns Big Ideas projects include: • Telling Stories, Sharing Cultures – a storytelling project working with refugees hosted an alternative Valentines Night event in Blue Teapot Theatre on 14th February. • Mother Tongues Festival – a new weekend festival celebrating linguistic diversity was hosted in various city centre venues on 22nd & 23rd February. • Culture Café 2019 – the final instalment of the new monthly pop-up culture café in Doughiska was hosted on 8th March. Galway 2020 opened Round 2 of Small Towns Big Ideas for new applications on 2nd April. The deadline for applications is 10th May and a number of public information sessions promoting the call will be held in early April in Ballinasloe, Clifden, Galway City, and An Spidéal. Small Towns Big Ideas. The large majority of the Small Towns Big Ideas projects that could be delivered were delivered by the end of April, as outlined in the 2021 Q2 Report. However, there were 2 projects that could not be completed within that timeline – The Foul Sound and Take Back Our Past: • The Foul Sound – this project brought GMIT Letterfrack furniture design students and selected artists together from May to July to explore wood and sound. The collaboration created a number of pieces in wood and other materials which will be presented as a mixed media exhibition in Letterfrack this December, see The Foul Sound. • Take Back Our Past – a 1-day festival in Lettermullan in early September celebrating ancient coastal community traditions through a programme of food, music, storytelling and other activities, see Take Back Our Past. The company is in the process of completing final project evaluations with all cultural partners and finalising Project Evaluation Reports. These are in-depth reviews of the projects and include statics on all aspects of the project. Copies of the completed evaluations are available on request.
Small Towns Big Ideas. A busy year for Small Towns Big Ideas came to a close with Connemara Songlines, a weekend of choral music and art exhibitions in Clifden. 2019 saw over 20 different Small Towns Big Ideas events delivered in communities across Galway City and County. The main focus of activity for Small Towns Big Ideas in Q4 has been on preparing those Small Towns Big Ideas projects that will feature in next year’s first season Imbolc, such as Shot By The Sea and also the Sea Swimmers as part of the series of events programmed for International Women’s Day in March. The Community Cast Call through all community networks has been continuous throughout Q4 with people from all communities and backgrounds signing up to participate in the Opening Ceremony events. Team members have met with Claddagh Residents Association and full community engagement will take place between now and Opening Ceremony on 8 February in South Park. This will include an open community meeting at 7pm on Wednesday 8January in Claddagh Community & Snooker Hall.   • Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults The Supplier will comply with all applicable legislation and codes of practice, including, where applicable, all legislation and statutory guidance relevant to the safeguarding and protection of children and vulnerable adults and with the British Council’s Child Protection Policy, as notified to the Supplier and amended from time to time, which the Supplier acknowledges may include submitting to a check by the UK Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) or the equivalent local service; in addition, the Supplier will ensure that, where it engages any other party to supply any of the Services under this Agreement, that that party will also comply with the same requirements as if they were a party to this Agreement.

  • Name; Trade Names and Styles The name of Borrower set forth in the heading to this Agreement is its correct name. Listed on the Schedule are all prior names of Borrower and all of Borrower's present and prior trade names. Borrower shall give Silicon 30 days' prior written notice before changing its name or doing business under any other name. Borrower has complied, and will in the future comply, with all laws relating to the conduct of business under a fictitious business name.
