Special Education Overload. A Pre-K through five student with an IEP will be counted toward the overload pay determination if they are scheduled for inclusion within a general education classroom as follows:

Special Education Overload. Special Education will follow the above parameters in Section J-1, 2 & 3 for an assigned overload. When a situation occurs that a special education licensed professional is required to supervise one or more students on a regular basis during their scheduled professional release time due to student needs it needs to be approved by the Superintendent or designee. When an unavoidable situation occurs that a special education licensed professional is required to supervise one or more students during their scheduled professional release time, they are eligible to be reimbursed for the lost time. In either situation, it is the responsibility of the licensed professional to maintain accurate records of the time lost. Timecards will be turned in to the principal for review and passed to the Director of Special Education for approval. If a Special Education licensed professional believes an overload may be merited based on an above average workload, a workload analysis process will be initiated with the case manager/service provider and building principal.
