Common use of Special Leave Clause in Contracts

Special Leave. (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall be entitled to special leave at his/her regular rate of pay for the following: (1) Marriage of the employee three (3) days, (2) Attend wedding of the employee's child one (1) day, (3) Birth or adoption of the employee's child one (1) day, (4) Serious household or domestic emergency one (1) day, (5) Moving household furniture and effects one (1) day, (6) Attend his/her formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen one (1) day, (7) Attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner one (1) day, (8) Court appearance for hearing of employee's child one (1) day, (b) Two (2) weeks' notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (2), (5) and (6). (c) For the purposes of (a)(2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workday, and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) months.

Special Leave. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5Clause 20.2(a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workday, and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under Clause 20.2 (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.

(d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) months.

Special Leave. ‌ (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall a regular employee, who has passed their probation, will be entitled to special leave at his/her their regular rate of pay for the following: (1) Marriage marriage of the employee - three (3) days,; (2) Attend wedding of the employee's child one (1) day, (3) Birth birth or adoption of the employee's child - one day;‌ (13) serious household or domestic emergency - one day,; (4) Serious household or domestic emergency one (1) day, (5) Moving household furniture and effects one (1) day, (6) Attend his/her attend their formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen - one (1) day,day;‌ (75) Attend attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner - one-half day; (6) attend wedding of the employee's child - one day; (17) moving household furniture and effects - one day,; (8) Court court appearance for hearing of employee's child - one (1) day,. (b) Two (2) weeks' notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (2a)(4), (5) a)(6), and (6a)(7). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2a)(4), (4a)(5), (5a)(6), (6), (7) and (8)a)(7), leave with pay will be only for the workday on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5a)(7), an employee will qualify if he/she is they are maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is they are changing his/her their place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her their normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she has they have not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5a)(7) on two (2) occasions one occasion within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.

(d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she he is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she he is changing his/her his place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her his normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she he has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.

Special Leave. ‌ (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall be entitled to special leave at his/her regular rate of with pay for the following: (1) Marriage marriage of the employee — three (3) days,; (2) Attend attend wedding of the employee's child — one (1) day,; (3) Birth birth or adoption of the employee's child — one (1) day,; (4) Serious serious household or domestic emergency — one (1) day,; (5) Moving moving household furniture and effects — one (1) day,; (6) Attend his/her attend his formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen — one (1) day,; (7) Attend attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner one (1) — one-half day,; (8) Court court appearance for hearing of employee's child — one day; (19) day,court ordered visitation privileges for an employee's child residing outside the service area - one day per year. (b) Two (2) weeks' notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (2), (5) and (6). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she he is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she he is changing his/her his place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her his normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she he has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.

Special Leave. (a) Where An employee not on leave from work is required, an employee of absence without pay shall be entitled to special leave at his/her their regular rate of pay for the following: (1) Marriage Attend wedding of the employee three (3) days,employee's child - one day (2) Attend wedding of the employee's child one (1) day, (3) Birth or adoption of the employee's child one (1) day,- two days (4) Serious household or domestic emergency one (1) day, (53) Moving household furniture and effects - one (1) day, (64) Attend his/her funeral as pall-bearer or mourner - maximum one-half day (5) Attend their formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen - one day (16) day,Marriage of the employee - three days (7) Attend funeral as pallbearer In the case of serious illness or mourner hospitalization of an elderly parent of the employee, when no one (1) day, (8) Court appearance other than the employee can provide for hearing the needs of employee's child the parent, and, after notifying their supervisor - one (1) day,day per calendar year. (b) Two (2) weeks' weeks notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (23), (5) and (6). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2a)(1), (3), (4), (5), (6), ) and (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday work day on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), 3) an employee will qualify if he/she is they are maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is they are changing his/her their place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her their normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she has they have not already qualified for special leave under (a)(53) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.

Special Leave. (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall be entitled to special leave at his/her regular current rate of pay for the following: (1) Marriage marriage of the employee three (3) days,; (2) Attend attend wedding of the employee's child one (1) day,; (3) Birth birth or adoption of the employee's child one (1) day,; (4) Serious serious household or domestic emergency one (1) day,; (5) Moving moving household furniture and effects one (1) day,; (6) Attend attend his/her formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen one (1) day,; (7) Attend attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner maximum of one (1) day,; (8) Court court appearance for hearing of employee's child one (1) day,; (b) Two (2) weeks' notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(120.1(a)(1), (2), (5) and (6). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2Clauses 20.2(a)(2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5Clause 20.2(a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workdayworking-hours, and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5Clause 20.2(a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) months.

(c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2Clauses 20.3(a)(2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday work day on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5Clause 20.3(a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workday, working hours and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5Clause 20.3(a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) months.

Special Leave. (b) Two In urgent circumstances, forty-eight (248) weeks' notice is required hours shall be acceptable for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (2), (5) and (620.2(a)(5). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8), leave with pay will be only for the workday work day on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5), an employee will qualify if he/she is maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is changing his/her place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she has not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5) on two (2) occasions within the preceding twelve (12) months.

Special Leave. ‌ (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall a regular employee, who has passed their probation, will be entitled to special leave at his/her their regular rate of pay for the following: (1) Marriage marriage of the employee - three (3) days,; (2) Attend wedding of the employee's child one (1) day, (3) Birth birth or adoption of the employee's child - one day; (13) serious household or domestic emergency - one day,; (4) Serious household or domestic emergency one (1) day, (5) Moving household furniture and effects one (1) day, (6) Attend his/her attend their formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen - one (1) day,; (75) Attend attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner - one-half day;‌ (6) attend wedding of the employee's child - one day; (17) moving household furniture and effects - one day,; (8) Court court appearance for hearing of employee's child - one (1) day,. (b) Two (2) weeks' notice is required for leave under Clauses (a)(1), (2a)(4), (5) a)(6), and (6a)(7). (c) For the purposes purpose of (a)(2a)(4), (4a)(5), (5a)(6), (6), (7) and (8)a)(7), leave with pay will be only for the workday on which the situation occurs. (d) For the purpose of determining eligibility for special leave under (a)(5a)(7), an employee will qualify if he/she is they are maintaining a self-contained household and if he/she is they are changing his/her their place of residence which necessitates the moving of household furniture and effects during his/her their normal workdayworking hours, and if he/she has they have not already qualified for special leave under (a)(5a)(7) on two (2) occasions one occasion within the preceding twelve (12) 12 months.
