Common use of Stage 3 Clause in Contracts

Stage 3. A grievance not settled at Stage 2 may be referred in writing by the Union to Stage 3 within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of the Employer’s decision at Stage 2. Within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of the Union’s referral to Stage 3, a representative of the Employer will meet with a Union representative to discuss and attempt to resolve the grievance. Within seven (7) calendar days of the Stage 3 meeting referenced above, the Employer shall provide its decision in writing to the Union office. Within sixty (60) calendar days of receipt of the Employer’s written reply at Stage 3, the Union may refer the grievance to mediation or arbitration.
