STAR PROGRAM. There has been created a separate and independent entity, the STAR (Skills, Safety, Supervisor & Survival Training Awards Recognition) Program, Inc., ("STAR Program") organized pursuant to the laws of the State of California, as a non-profit California Corporation. The purposes for which this corporation is formed are to promote a high performance, high value culture within the workforce covered under this Agreement through the utilization of a reward based training program. The STAR Program shall fund all STAR Program training and all rewards granted to employees whom annually meet the required goals as established by the STAR Program. These purposes are consistent with those established under the authority of the Labor-Management Cooperation Act of 1978, U.S.C. Section 175(a) and 29 U.S.C. Section 186(c)(9). (a) The affairs of the STAR Program are governed by a Board of Directors comprised of equal members representing labor and management. (b) The Employer shall be required to remit twenty-five cents ($0.25) per hour for each hour worked or portion thereof on each employee covered under this Agreement. Contributions shall be made pursuant to the provisions of Article 13.
