Statement of Principle. The parties acknowledge the following provisions are to protect the rights of employees during pregnancy and on their return to employment following parental leave and is to be read in conjunction with the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987 (referred to as the Act in this clause 16), provided that where this clause 16 is more favourable to the employee, the provisions of this clause 16 shall prevail.
