Status of Leave Employees. While an employee is on leave under this section, he or 18 she shall be classified as an employee and shall receive the same treatment in respect to 19 salary, wages, and employee benefits as the employee would normally receive if using 20 accrued sick leave. Payment of sick leave shall be distributed as if normally using their 21 regularly accrued sick leave. Payment of sick leave shall be in accordance with state 22 statutes, rules and regulations.
