Status of Leave Employees. While an employee is on leave under this section, he or she shall be classified as an employee and shall receive the same treatment in respect to salary, wages, and employee benefits as the employee would normally receive if using accrued sick leave. Payment of sick leave shall be in accordance with state statutes, rules and regulations.

  • Probation for Newly Hired Employees A newly hired employee shall be on probation for a period of six (6) months from the date of hiring. During the probationary period, the employee shall be entitled to all rights and benefits of this Agreement. After completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be effective from the original date of employment.

  • Probationary Employees Employees with permanent status will not be separated from state service through a layoff action without first being offered positions they have the skills and abilities to perform within their current job classification within the layoff unit currently held by probationary employees.
