Status of Leave Employees. While an employee is on leave under this section, he or she will be classified as an employee and will receive the same treatment in respect to salary, wages, and employee benefits as the employee would normally receive if using accrued sick leave. Payment of sick leave will be in accordance with state statues, rules and regulations.
