Step II - Department Head. Within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of the supervisor's answer, the unit employee will forward the grievance to his/her division head. The department head will, within seven (7) calendar days, enter his/her decision, the reasons for it, and return it to the grievant. If the unit employee is not satisfied with the decision, he/she may appeal as follows:

Step II - Department Head. If the written response at Step I does not result in a resolution of the grievance, the grievant may appeal the grievance by signing and completing the CRA grievance form and presenting it to the Department Head or his/her designee within 10 days of the grievant's receipt of supervisor's response or within 10 days of the last day that the supervisor had to respond if no response is given. Either party may request that a meeting be held within 10 days concerning the grievance or may mutually agree that no meeting be held. Within 10 days of having received the written grievance or the meeting, whichever is later, the Department Head or his/her designee shall submit his/her response in writing to the grievant and the grievant's representative, if any. If the Department Head or his/her designee does not respond within the time limits, the grievant may appeal to the next level.
