In cases of assault upon a teacher, the Board shall promptly render reasonable assistance to the teacher in connection with handling of the incident including, when necessary, the involvement by law enforcement and judicial authorities. Time lost by a teacher in connection with any incident mentioned in this section shall not be charged against the teacher’s leave time. In cases of assault the Board will reimburse teachers for any loss, damage or destruction of clothing or personal property not covered by a teacher's personal insurance, and the deductible amount of their insurance should there be malicious destruction to the vehicle of the teacher while on duty in the school or on the Board's premises.
