Study Professional/Development Leave. 50.1 Each full time nurse (pro rata, for part time employees) may make application to the Employer in order to access study/ professional development leave. Each application will be assessed on its merits in the context of the applicability of the conference/ seminar, the number of other similar applications and the resources available to the employer.

Study Professional/Development Leave. (i) The Employer recognises that training/education is essential for the maintenance and development of knowledge and skills. The Employer will continue to provide and support training/education opportunities where possible.

Reasonable travel, accommodation and registration costs may be paid by the employer where the employee’s attendance is approved.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.
