Common use of SUMMER MODIFIED WORK WEEK Clause in Contracts

SUMMER MODIFIED WORK WEEK. During the summer months, at the request of either individual Employees or the Employer, and upon mutual agreement with the Union, the Employer may implement a modified work week in which employees work ten (10) regular hours per day four (4) days per week. This modified work week is an averaging agreement. Employees working on averaging agreements shall work ten (10) hour shifts on four (4) days during the regular work week (Monday to Friday) and have one (1) scheduled day off in addition to the weekend. Employees working on a scheduled day off shall be entitled to overtime pay in accordance with 8.04 above. When a named holiday occurs during the summer modified work week, the normal hours of work will resume for that week, so that Employees shall receive eight (8) hours holiday pay and work eight (8) hours on the remaining four (4) weekdays.
