(b) The qualifying period, as per the Employment Standards Code, must be served in order to qualify for any maternity (SUB) payment. For greater certainty, should an employee fail to serve the full qualifying period prior to the start of the maternity leave, then that employee shall be eligible to receive maternity leave benefits only for that portion of the seventeen (17) weeks referenced in (c) below which occurs after the completion of the qualifying period.
