Common use of Suspension of the employee Clause in Contracts

Suspension of the employee. In addition to the above procedures, the employer at its discretion may suspend an employee for a period of up to 5 days without pay whilst any allegations are being investigated. Following a full investigation of the matter and if after the employee has been given adequate opportunity to respond: a) The employer concludes the allegation is unsubstantiated; the employee will be entitled to payment for the rostered hours or the hours usually rostered during the period of suspension. b) The employee is dismissed, dismissal will take effect from the date the employee was suspended.
