Common use of Sustenance Allowance Clause in Contracts

Sustenance Allowance. Where an employee is required to work at a location which is not their usual place of work and are required to stay overnight, and when arrangements have not been made for accommodation, meals and/or general out of pocket expenses paid in advance by EnergyAustralia then the employee shall be paid the sustenance allowance rate outlined in (Appendix D, Extra Rates, Item No. 23). Application of this clause will be provided to the employee in writing prior to the employee being required to work at a location that is not their usual place of work, including an overnight stay.
