Temperature Gauging Devices Sample Clauses

Temperature Gauging Devices. The temperature of the LNG and of the vapor space in each LNG tank shall be measured by means of a number of properly located temperature measuring devices sufficient to permit the determination of average temperature. The measurement accuracy of the temperature gauging devices shall be as follows: (i) in the temperature range of minus one hundred sixty five to minus one hundred forty degree Celsius (-165C to -140°C), the accuracy shall be plus or minus zero point two degree Celsius (± 0.2 °C); (ii) in the temperature range of minus one hundred forty to plus forty degree Celsius (-140C to +40 °C), the accuracy shall be plus or minus one point five degree Celsius (± 1.5 °C). The temperature in each LNG tank shall be logged or printed.

Temperature Gauging Devices. Each LNG tank of each LNG Ship shall be equipped with a minimum of four (4) temperature gauging devices located on or near the vertical axis of such LNG tank. These temperature sensors shall have 100% back up redundancy in the form of spare sensors, for emergency use mounted adjacent to such temperature sensors. The measurement uncertainty of the temperature gauging devices shall, under normal operations, be less than 0.3°C for liquid (LNG) and 1.5°C for vapour phase. Each LNG tank of each LNG Ship shall have one absolute pressure gauging device. The measurement accuracy of the pressure gauging device shall be plus or minus one percent (+/- 1%) of full-scale.

Temperature Gauging Devices. (a) The LNG tank (or each LNG tank, if more than one) of the LNG Carrier shall be equipped with a minimum of five (5) pairs of temperature gauging devices located on or near the vertical axis of such LNG tank, in such a way as not to be affected by the spray of LNG when the spray pumps are in operation. (b) Primary and redundant temperature gauges are required, and indications from the two systems shall be routinely compared to ensure they are performing normally. Such temperature gauging devices shall be installed at various locations from the top to bottom of each tank to provide temperature measurements at various levels in the tank. The topmost temperature device shall be located in the vapour space at all times, and the bottom temperature device shall be located in the heel. (c) In the temperature range of minus one hundred sixty-five (-165) degree Celsius to minus one hundred forty-five (-145) degree Celsius, the accuracy shall be plus or minus zero decimal two (± 0.2) degree
Temperature Gauging Devices. (a) Each LNG tank of each LNG Vessel shall be equipped with a minimum of four (4) temperature gauging devices located on or near the vertical axis of such LNG tank. One of the temperature sensors shall be amounted at the bottom of each tank, and another of the temperature sensors shall be amounted at the top of each tank to make sure that the temperature of liquid and vapour can always available. The sensors shall be carefully located to avoid the effects of the LNG spray. These temperature sensors shall have 100% back up redundancy in the form of spare sensors, for emergency use mounted adjacent to such temperature sensors. (b) The characteristics, tolerances, installation, operation and checking of the temperature gauging devices must agree with ISO 8310 Refrigerated light hydrocarbon fluids – Measurement of temperature in tanks containing liquefied gases – Resistance thermometers and thermocouples. (c) The measurement uncertainty of the temperature gauging devices shall under normal operating be less than 0.3°C. (d) Recalibration of temperature measuring devices shall be carried out during each dry docking or immediately if determined to be out of calibration during operations.
