Common use of Temporary Schedule Changes Clause in Contracts

Temporary Schedule Changes. In the event the University initiates a temporary schedule change, the employee will be notified in writing of the change at least seven (7) calendar days in advance; provided that the notice shall be at least two (2) days in the case of schedule changes for campus police working a 7(k) schedule. The day that notification is given is considered the first day of notice. Temporary changes to such employee’s work schedule may be made with less than seven (7) days’ notice (two (2) days for 7(k) schedules); provided that in the event a scheduled employee is assigned a temporary schedule change with less notice for reasons other than the employee’s request, the employee will be given the option to work his or her normal schedule in addition to the modified schedule. A temporary schedule change is defined as a change lasting twenty-one (21) calendar days or less. Upon written request the supervisor may allow the employee to waive the seven (7) days’ notice period. The supervisor will notify the employee of their decision in writing.
