Common use of Term Maternity Leave Clause in Contracts

Term Maternity Leave. As soon as the condition of pregnancy has been established and upon written request to the Superintendent of Schools stating the expected date of birth, a pregnant teacher shall be granted a leave of absence: a. as provided for in the Employment Standards Act, or b. for a stated period of time so that the return to duty will coincide with the commencement of the following term or semester; c. credit for increments shall be granted if a teacher has taught six (6) months in a school year in which Leave of Absence has been taken.
