Common use of Terms of Apprenticeship Clause in Contracts

Terms of Apprenticeship. The term of apprenticeship will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Training and the recording of such time will be the responsibility of the Section employing the apprentice. Credit for previous experience may be given when the apprentice has satisfactorily demonstrated that such apprentice possesses such previous experience and skills required to qualify for such credit. Only hours actually worked will apply to the apprenticeship program and time lost due to illness, injury, vacation, leave, etc., will not qualify as apprenticeship time. The normal hours of work within the journeyperson’s classification will apply to the apprentice and any hours worked at the overtime rate shall only qualify for credit to the apprenticeship program at the rate of actual hours worked.
