TIME HOLIDAYS. A. Regular part-time employees shall have those of the above paid holidays, which occur on a regular working day for the employee. In addition, the holidays which occur in any recess period, Feb., Dec., Jan., or April, the day before Christmas Day, Christmas Day, the day before New Year's Day and New Year's Day shall also be holidays for regular part-time employees who are employed either the last working day before or the first working day after the scheduled recess period. The provisions of Section 2 regarding holidays, which fall on Saturday or Sunday also, apply to regular part-time employees.

TIME HOLIDAYS. The Employer agrees to do an accounting in the first two (2) months of each calendar year comparing the holiday pay received by the Part Time employee in the prior year and the holiday pay they would have received for the Statutory Holidays set out in the ESA and calculated in accordance with the ESA. Where an employee has received less holiday pay than she would have under the ESA the Employer shall pay the difference to bring her to the ESA pay level. The first calculation will occur in the first two months of 2012 for the calendar year 2011. LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #3 - RE: VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN The parties hereby recognize and share the concern that women uniquely face situations of violence or abuse in their personal lives that may affect their attendance or performance at work. The parties agree that when there is adequate verification from a recognized professional (e.g. doctor, lawyer, professional counsellor), a woman who is in an abuse or violent personal or domestic situation may not be subject to discipline without giving full consideration of the facts in the case of each individual and the circumstances surrounding the incident otherwise supportive of discipline. This statement of intent is subject to a standard of good faith on the part of the employer, the union and the affected employees and will not be utilized by the union or the employees to subvert the application of otherwise appropriate disciplinary measures.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Named Holidays 18.01 (a) Regular and Temporary Full-time Employees shall be eligible to receive a day off with pay on or for the following Named Holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Holiday and any day proclaimed to be a holiday by:

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.
