Time Off Requests. (a) Except in extenuating circumstances, an Employee’s request for time-off from scheduled hours of work shall be made in writing to the Employer at least seven (7) calendar days in advance of the date on which the Employee wants time-off. Approval of time-off requests shall be at the discretion of the Employer and shall be subject to the efficient operation of the Employer. (b) Where the Employer permits Employees to exchange shifts, the Employer shall not be liable for non-compliance with the scheduling provisions of the Collective Agreement, including Articles 18 and 19, arising with the shift exchange.
