Tour of Duty A tour of duty means the authorized and/or approved time worked by an employee during the day, as defined in Articles 15.1, 15.1.1 and 15.4 calculated to the end of the last quarter (¼) hour in which work was performed. If a tour of duty extends beyond 2400 hours it shall be considered as falling wholly within the calendar day in which it started.
Shift Exchange The Employer and the Union agree that shift exchanges are a useful process to allow employees more flexibility and improved work/life balance. Employees within an institution who have the same job classification will be allowed to exchange full shifts for positions in which they are qualified. The shift exchange process will not be used to circumvent the bid system or the supervisory chain of command. Shift exchanges will be in accordance with the following:
Time Off for Union Activities A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be granted in advance of the absence and in accordance with the Employer’s leave policies. Approval will not be granted if the absence interferes with the Employer’s ability to provide coverage during the requested time off or the operating needs of the agency cannot be met.
Time Off for Association Business 21.01 Upon written request by the Association to the permanent head, and with the approval in writing of the permanent head, leave with pay shall be awarded to an employee as follows:

Step Placement A. Employees will be compensated on a salary range consisting of seven (7) steps. The salary percentage differential for the seven (7) steps is as follows:
Emergency Closings In the event of a student day or teacher duty day lost for an emergency, the teacher shall perform duties another day in lieu thereof as the school board or its designated representative shall determine, if any.
Public Opening Responses shall be opened on the date and at the location indicated on the Timeline. Respondents may, but are not required to, attend. The Buyer may choose not to announce prices or release other materials pursuant to s. 119.071(1)(b), Florida Statutes. Emergency Closures A. The University’s inability to make a Room available to me for any reason beyond the University’s control including, but not limited to, natural disaster, fire, flood, earthquake, condemnation, pandemic, quarantine, utility malfunction, infestation, or other emergency or force majeure event shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement by the University. In such circumstances, the University shall have no liability to me in any way for injuries, reimbursement, damages, inconvenience, annoyance or compensation of any kind. The University may attempt to find, but cannot guarantee, an alternative space for me. If the unavailability of my Room or an alternative space persists for more than 72 hours, I may terminate this Agreement and Check out during said unavailability without penalty provided that I shall be responsible for all financial obligations incurred up to the date of such termination. The University agrees to provide me with a pro rata refund, calculated from the date of such termination to the end of the Agreement Period, of any prepaid housing and dining payment made to the University, and to return my Deposit pursuant to this Agreement. Upon resumption of standard operations, Agreement Termination requirements and charges will apply as described in Section XIV.
Emergency Closing 1. Management shall decide when, if, and to what extent State facilities shall remain open or closed during emergencies, such as adverse weather conditions, acts of God, equipment breakdown, inoperable bathroom facilities, extreme office temperatures, etc.
