Time Off for Union Activities. A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be granted in advance of the absence and in accordance with the Employer’s leave policies. Approval will not be granted if the absence interferes with the Employer’s ability to provide coverage during the requested time off or the operating needs of the agency cannot be met.
Time Off for Union Activities. The employer agrees to grant the necessary time off, without discrimination or loss of seniority rights and without pay, to any employee designated by the Union to attend a labor convention provided that there is two-week notice of any union convention. Due consideration shall be given to the number of personnel affected in order that there shall be no disruptions of employer's operations due to lack of available employees.
Time Off for Union Activities. A. Union-designated employees may request to be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored meetings, training sessions, conferences, and conventions, and such requests will be granted, provided the absence of the employee(s) does not unreasonably interfere with the operating needs of the College as determined by management. If the requested absence is approved, employees may use accumulated compensatory time, personal holiday, personal leave or accrued vacation leave instead of leave without pay. However, employees must use compensatory time prior to the use of vacation leave, unless the use would result in a loss of vacation leave.
Time Off for Union Activities. 11.03 The Employer shall grant leave with pay to employees participating as a party, a witness, or a Representative of the Union in respect to:
Time Off for Union Activities. Local Union representatives shall be allowed reasonable time off without pay for legitimate Union business such as Union meetings, state or area wide committee meetings, state or international conventions, provided reasonable notice is given by such employee requesting time off to Employer and provided further that adequate substitutes are available. Reasonable notice is construed in this case as five (5) working days.
Time Off for Union Activities. Subject to supervisor’s approval, the University will consider requests for time off for Union activities provided employees use any combination of accrued paid time off (excluding sick leave) or leave without pay subject to notification procedure contained in the appropriate leave Article of this Agreement.
Time Off for Union Activities. Union Stewards shall be allowed time off without pay for legitimate Union business, such as Union meetings and State or International conventions, provided such representative gives reasonable prior notice to his/her supervisor of such absence and the time off does not disrupt the operations of the Employer. The employee may utilize any accumulated time off (Holiday, Personal, Vacation Days, etc.) in lieu of the employee taking such without pay.
Time Off for Union Activities. The Employer agrees to grant the necessary time off, without discrim- ination or the loss of seniority rights and without pay, to any employee designated by the union to attend a labor convention or serve in any capacity on other official business provided, forty-eight (48) hours’ written notice is given to the Employer by the union, specifying length of time off. The union agrees that, in making its request for time off for union activities, due consideration shall be given to the number of employees affected in order that there shall be no disrup- tion of the employer’s operation due to lack of available employees.
Time Off for Union Activities. PSE-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union- sponsored meetings, training sessions, conferences, and conventions. The employee’s time off will not interfere with the operating needs of the institution as determined by management. If the absence is approved, the employees may use accumulated compensatory time or vacation leave instead of leave without pay.
Time Off for Union Activities. Any employee elected by the Union to represent such Union at International, State or District meetings, which requires his/her absence from duty, may be granted the necessary time off to attend such meetings without pay and without discrimination and without loss of seniority rights or any other rights granted by the Employer. Request for such leave shall be made thirty (30) working days prior to said meeting.
