The Contractor is responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate traffic control and barricades. The Contractor shall provide sufficient signing, flagging and barricading to ensure the safety of vehicular and pedestrian traffic at all locations where work is being done under this Agreement.

TRAFFIC CONTROL AND BARRICADES. Contractor will be responsible for complying with the current City of Phoenix Traffic Barricade Manual and the City of Mesa Supplement to the City of Phoenix Traffic Barricade Manual and the current Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). All signs, cones, traffic control devices, and equipment necessary for the control of traffic will be furnished by the Contractor in accordance with the City of Mesa Traffic Barricade Manual and the MUTCD. All traffic control devices must be compliant with the AASHTO Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware “MASH”.   • Traffic Control The Surveyor shall control traffic in and near surveying operations adequately to comply with provisions of the latest edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices – Part VI which can be found on the State’s internet site. In the event field crew personnel must divert traffic or close traveled lanes, a Traffic Control Plan based upon principles outlined in the latest edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices – Part VI shall be prepared by the Surveyor and approved by the State prior to commencement of field work. A copy of the approved plan shall be in the possession of field crew personnel on the job site at all times and shall be made available to the State’s personnel for inspection upon request.
