Common use of Transfer Outside Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Transfer Outside Bargaining Unit. An employee who is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit for up to one year shall retain but not accumulate seniority while in that position. Any extension to such transfer will be negotiated by the parties. An employee will only be covered for a subsequent transfer out of the bargaining unit if in the interim they had returned to and worked in a bargaining unit position for at least the same duration as their previous assignment outside the bargaining unit.
