Common use of Transfers and Seniority Outside of the Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Transfers and Seniority Outside of the Bargaining Unit. No employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without the employee’s consent. If an employee transfers to a permanent position outside of the bargaining unit, the employee shall lose all seniority. If an employee is temporarily transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit for a period of less than one (1) year, the employee shall lose all seniority. However, upon return to the bargaining unit at the end of the temporary period, any seniority held at the beginning of the temporary period shall be reinstated.
