Common use of Transitioning Leave Clause in Contracts

Transitioning Leave. An employee who provides a certificate from a medical practitioner confirming that the employee requires a leave of absence in order to undergo the medical or non-medical procedure(s) related to a physical and/or emotional change from one gender to another shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of service or seniority and will be eligible for sickness and accident coverage while absent. Standard STD/LTD coverage will apply in accordance with provincial legislation and the current insurance policy/coverage at that time.
