Salary Progression. 1. For the purposes of determining annual progression from one step to the next, each teacher’s performance will be assessed annually against the appropriate professional standards. 2. When setting performance expectations and development objective(s) with individual teachers for the coming year, the appropriate professional standards against which the teacher is to be assessed should be confirmed between the teacher and the employer. 3. For each teacher to progress annually to their next salary step they will need to demonstrate that they meet the appropriate professional standards.
Salary Progression. Seniority, for the purpose of salary progression, shall be by bargaining unit-wide seniority based upon an employee’s continuous length of service or adjusted length of service within the bargaining unit, in accordance with the salary progression steps in Article 18.
Salary Progression. Subject to the following provisions, where an academic staff member meets the relevant characteristics of ASM, SASM and PASM as specified in Schedule B, he/she may be appointed to the ASM, SASM or PASM Grade. An academic staff member may be appointed to PASM grade in accordance with the institute’s policy.

As Adjunct and Residential Faculty demonstrate excellence in each of these areas, this excellence is recognized with increased compensation for Faculty.
Salary Progression. (a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) following, employees shall progress to each such succeeding step in the salary range for their job group in accordance with the service required to qualify for such step. (b) An employee placed on a step in the salary range at a point higher than they would qualify for length of service (on being hired, or promoted in accordance with clause 20.5 of this article) shall move to the next step in their salary range upon completion of six (6) months service following such a placement, subject to clause 20.6(c). (c) Advancement from one (1) salary step to another may be withheld due to inadequate performance under the following circumstance: (1) the employee has been counselled regarding inadequate performance following his/her last job service salary increase; and (2) notice of intent to withhold the next service salary increase is given to the employee and the Union one (1) month prior to the date such increase is due. (d) When employees restore their performance, they shall be advanced to the next step in their salary range on a non retroactive basis.
Salary Progression. Wage Rate Pending Negotiation of Successor Agreement: In the event a successor Agreement is not entered into before June 30, 2020, an employee shall continue to be compensated at the rate in effect on June 30, 2020 until a successor Agreement is fully ratified. The employee shall not advance a step on the salary schedule after June 30, 2020 while the parties are negotiating a successor Agreement. Step advancement after June 30, 2020 is dependent upon the outcome of the negotiations for the successor Agreement.

Advancement in the salary rate for the rank of Commander shall be made automatically after one year of service based on the date the employee is initially promoted to Commander. Such advancement shall occur at the beginning of the pay period in which the anniversary date falls. C. An employee shall be placed no lower than Step 4 upon promotion to Deputy Chief I. Advancement in the salary rate for Deputy Chief I shall be made automatically step by step after each year of service based on the date the employee is initially promoted to Deputy Chief I. Such advancement shall occur at the beginning of the pay period in which the anniversary date falls. D. An employee shall be placed no lower than Step 4 upon promotion to Deputy Chief II. Advancement in the salary rate for Deputy Chief II shall be automatically step by step after each year of service based on the date the employee is initially promoted to Deputy Chief II. Such advancement shall occur at the beginning of the pay period in which the anniversary date falls.
Salary Progression a) Each staff member’s performance will be formally appraised using the NRC’s Performance Excellence Process (PEP) and the results of this appraisal will be used to determine their incremental progression to the next salary point within the relevant remuneration band (shown on Table 1). b) Incremental progression to the next salary point will occur if the formal appraisal finds that the staff member’s performance and value to the NRC over the previous 12 months was higher than their existing salary. c) The salary and performance of each staff member will be reviewed at least annually. d) Additional formal performance appraisals may be completed within the annual cycle. e) Where a formal appraisal finds that a staff member’s performance is exceptional, their incremental progression through the salary points within the relevant remuneration band may be accelerated. f) The Commissioner or delegate must approve all salary progressions.
